Grain Conversion Calculator

Pick a grain, enter a quantity in bushels, pounds, kilograms, or tons, and see it in every unit. The conversion uses a standard reference weight per bushel for each crop, so it is not the same as a plain weight or volume converter.

Frequently asked questions

Why does each grain have a different weight per bushel?

A bushel measures volume, and different grains pack differently. Standard weights per bushel, such as 60 lb for wheat and 32 lb for oats, let buyers and sellers convert between volume and weight consistently.

Are these the actual weights of my grain?

No. They are reference values. Moisture, test weight, variety, and grain condition all change real weight, so use a scale reading when precision matters.

How is this different from the Grain Bin Calculator?

The Grain Bin Calculator estimates how much space grain occupies in a round bin. This tool converts an amount of a specific grain between bushels and weight units.

How is this different from a weight or volume converter?

A generic converter cannot turn bushels into pounds because that depends on the crop. This tool applies a crop-specific reference weight.

What about corn on the cob or other grain forms?

The values here are for shelled or cleaned grain. Ear corn, high-moisture grain, and processed products use different conventions.

Can I use this for pricing or contracts?

Use it for quick estimates only. Contracts and settlements follow the standards and moisture adjustments specified by your buyer or local rules.
