Raw Dog Food Calculator

Enter a total daily raw food amount and your own percentages for each component to see the weight of each part. This tool only does the arithmetic on percentages you provide - it does not recommend a meat, bone, or organ ratio, and does not check that a diet is nutritionally complete.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tell me the right percentages to feed?

No. It only performs arithmetic on the percentages you enter yourself. Calquary does not provide or endorse a specific muscle meat, bone, or organ ratio - appropriate proportions depend on your dog's individual needs and are a decision for you and your veterinarian or a veterinary nutritionist.

Is a raw diet calculated this way nutritionally complete?

This tool cannot tell you that. Complete and balanced nutrition depends on far more than simple percentages of meat, bone, and organ - it also involves specific nutrient levels, vitamin and mineral balance, and your individual dog's needs. Work with a veterinary nutrition professional to formulate a complete diet.

How is this different from the Dog Food Calculator?

The Dog Food Calculator estimates daily calorie needs and cups of a commercial food based on resting energy requirements. This tool does not estimate calories or recommend any diet at all - it only splits a total amount you provide into parts using percentages you also provide.

Is raw feeding safe?

Raw animal products can carry pathogens such as Salmonella, Listeria, or E. coli that pose risks to your dog and to people handling the food, especially children, older adults, pregnant people, and those who are immunocompromised. If you choose to feed raw, use careful food-safety practices and discuss the approach with your veterinarian.

Can I use this for percentages that don't add up to 100%?

Yes, the calculator will still compute each component's weight, but it will flag that your percentages don't total 100% so you can check your own numbers are what you intended.

Why doesn't Calquary just tell me a standard raw feeding ratio?

Commonly cited ratios online vary and are not universally validated as nutritionally complete for every dog. Rather than presenting one as authoritative, this tool leaves that decision to you and your veterinary team, and only helps with the arithmetic once you've decided on your own figures.
