Tree Value Calculator
Enter how many trees you have, the volume or quantity each yields, the price per unit you were quoted, and any removal or processing cost. The calculator multiplies it out. It does not look up prices or appraise trees, so use figures from local buyers or a certified appraiser.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a tree appraisal?
No. It multiplies the quantity, price, and cost you enter. A formal appraisal for insurance, legal, or tax purposes should come from a qualified arborist or forester.
Where do I get the price per unit?
Ask local timber buyers, sawmills, or firewood sellers, or check a state forestry agency's published price reports. This calculator does not supply prices.
What quantity should I use per tree?
Use the unit your buyer pays in, such as board feet for sawtimber, cords for firewood, or tons for pulpwood. A forester can estimate volume from DBH and height.
Can the result be negative?
Yes. If removal or processing costs exceed the gross value, the net value is negative, which is common for small or poor-quality trees.
Does this include the value of shade, wildlife, or property value?
No. It only counts direct sale value minus costs. Ecosystem and landscape benefits need a separate methodology.
Which tools help me get tree size first?
The Basal Area Calculator turns DBH into cross-sectional area and the Tree Height Calculator estimates height, both useful inputs for a forester's volume estimate.
